Community

Cochise has a strong commitment to our community as well as in those communities where  we work.  We are a proud supporter of Florence Crittenton Services, a charity serving at-risk girls. We participate each year in the “Teaming Up for Girls” event. Our employees also participate in an “Inspire” group at Florence Crittenton , designed to give the at-risk girls the opportunity to hear stories of how adult women overcame difficulties in their early years and became successful members of their communities.

We also support Families of SMA, (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), a  debilitating and often life-threatening disease affecting one in every ten thousand babies.

Cochise has always been supportive of sports activities and higher education of our employees and we demonstrate this by our involvement in the Arizona Petroleum Marketers Association scholarship program.

Educating the community about our industry has been important to us over the years. For example, Cochise Vice President, Steve Kaler, provided Underground Storage Tank (UST) Installation training to tribal UST inspectors for several years through the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona.  The 4-day training gave the inspectors a complete and competent explanation of Underground Storage Tanks.

Brent Erekson, Cochise President, and Steve Kaler have also been called upon as subject matter experts to testify and answer questions regarding issues in the petroleum dispensing industry before several different legislative committees.
